This is our second last day in Tokyo and I am already recalling feelings which I had last time I had been in Tokyo for almost a week. A sense that Tokyo will be missed when we move on, the pace, the organisation, the charm of the people, the energy and the quiet. The exploration, the differences, the culture.
Today we headed to Akihabara, the district famous for electronics, anime and maid cafes. So a bit tacky in some respects but some interesting model railway places I wanted to investigate and Ash explored another Animate branch and a cat cafe.
For lunch we had a pork cutlet sandwich from the red vending machine in the below photo. It is a well kept secret, stocked daily with freshly made pork cutlet sandwiches by a restaurant over the road famous for their pork cutlets! Delicious and only Y750 or less than AUD8.
I went to north of Shinjuku to visit the head office and amazing displays of the Kato model railway manufacturer, below.
Then Ash and I met at Ginza where we explored a little, including Itoya stationary store and a flagship Uniqlo.
Before heading back to Asakusa for another dinner at the same local diner as last evening.
