Day 5 - Asakusa, Tokyo & Shibuya (April 18th)

We spent the morning exploring our local area of Asakusa, visiting the gardens and other shrines around the Senso-ji Temple just over the Sumida River from our apartment.

The we caught the train into Tokyo for lunch in the food courts under the JR Tokyo station, with the delicious udon noodles below the result . . .

Then we went to Shibuya, crossed the famous Scramble Crossing, and caught up with some friends from Brisvegas then went up the new Shibuya Sky lookout.  The tickets today were sold out on site, but we had been warned of this and had pre-purchased ours for a certain timeslot today a month ago, which also meant they were cheaper.

The view from Shibuya Sky is spectacular . . . . even though the sky was not clear enough to see Mt Fuji
